Rayon Sports are optimistic to make light work of Marines FC when the two sides face-off in their return-leg clash of Peace Cup quarter-finals today at Kigali Stadium – kick-off 3:30pm.

Rayon Sports won the first leg 1-0 on Saturday at Umuganda Stadium courtesy of Eric Gisa Irambona’s lone goal. The Blues need a draw to reach the semis of the country’s second biggest football tournament – which they last won in 2016.

Roberto Oliveira Goncalves do Carmo’s Rayon Sports will go into the game well knowing that exit from the competition would mean they will not represent the country in continental football next season – the 2019 CAF Confederation Cup.

The 2018 Peace Cup winners will – along with league champions APR – represent Rwanda in CAF competitions in the 2019 campaign.

"We have great advantage to reach semi-finals since we won the first-leg away to Marines, we can’t afford to waste the opportunity. We won’t be into the game to defend the 1-0 score, we won’t take any chances.”  Rayon’s Brazilian coach Goncalves said.

The winner over the two legs will proceed to the last four stage slated for next week while the final and third place playoff will be held on August 8.
