Volleyball: Seven local clubs to grace KAVC tourney

Seven local volleyball clubs have confirmed they will participate in the 22nd NSSF KAVC International Volleyball Championship on August 3-5 in Kampala, Uganda.

The three-day tournament will be contested by 34 teams, local and regional.

The teams that have confirmed to take part in the tournament are; holders Rwanda Revenue Authority, APR and IPRC- Kigali in women’s category while for the male category, the country will be represented by APR, Rwanda Energy Group, University of Tourism Technology and Business Studies (UTB) and league champions Gisagara.

This year’s edition will also attract teams from Kenya, Tanzania and South Sudan.

Since its established in 1995, the KAVC memorial tournament has been a star attraction for a number of East Africa’s best teams. The teams from the region will be slugging it out at the MTN arena in Lugogo, Makerere University Business School Nakawa and Namboole.

Rwanda’s APR and RRA will be seeking to retain the titles in men and women’s categories they won last year.
