The national women’s sitting volleyball team beat Croatia in straight sets 25-9, 26-24 and 25-14 on Tuesday to wrap up their group campaign on a high despite suffering early exit from the ongoing World Sitting Volleyball Championships in the Netherlands.

Before the Croatia clash, debutants Rwanda had already lost their first two Group A games against Canada and the hosts – two identical 3-0 defeats on Sunday and Monday respectively.

By press time Tuesday, Jean Marie Nsengiyumva’s ladies were yet to find out who they would meet in classification matches.

Meanwhile, Rwanda men’s team play their last group game today against China, also looking for a first win after losing to Netherlands  and the United States in their first two games.

Eric Gakwaya’s side lost both games in four (3-1) sets, on Sunday and Monday respectively.

At the week-long world's biggest sitting volleyball tournament, Africa is represented by Rwanda and Egypt.
