Rwamihareu2019s latest album is a tribute to liberation heroes.

It was an early Liberation Day for music lovers that turned up for Jean de Dieu Bonhomme Rwamihare’s album launch on Tuesday night, on the eve of the 24th Liberation Day.

Staged at Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (KCEV), the concert was packed with great performances.

Dubbed ‘Inkotanyi ni Ubuzima’, the six-track album consists of songs, including ‘Urukundo ruzira icyasha’ and ‘Igihango n’Inkotanyi’.

Speaking about the album’s title, Bonhomme said, "This six-track album is a tribute to the heroism of the Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF-Inkotanyi) soldiers, who risked their lives and ended the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, and explores gratitude towards the liberation struggle fighters.”

Bonhomme stepped on stage at 8pm, to deafening applause and screams, as the artiste belted out his hit list in honour of liberation heroes.

The concert featured great performances from different local artistes like Sergeant Robert and Eric Senderi, to celebrate the sacrifice of the liberators.

"We are coming from the  24th anniversary of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.  So, I wanted to join fellow Rwandans to celebrate and show  gratitude to the RPF soldiers, who risked their lives and saved many lives. I’m grateful that the concert was a success,” said Bonhomme.

"This has been my source of inspiration for this album dedicated to RPF soldiers,” he added.

The concert ended at 10pm.
