Inyamibwa Cultural Troupe set for 'Inkuru ya 30' mega concert

Renowned cultural troupe Inyamibwa AERG is gearing up for a highly anticipated concert to celebrate the country’s liberation after 30 years since the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

Dubbed 'Inkuru ya 30', the concert slated for March 23, at BK Arena is organised and will be headlined by members of Genocide Survivors Students’ Association (AERG) comprised of singers and dancers.

Nicole Teta Ndenga, a dancer in the troupe said that they put much effort into preparations to give people the best time at the concert.

A dancer and singer in the troupe, Chris Muvunyi also highlighted that the concert will be one of a kind.

" This time around we will bring joy to many hearts, our fans should expect more dances, choreographies they have never seen and nice costumes. They will get to listen to the songs that were used to uplift Rwandans during the liberation time,” he said.

About Inyamibwa Cultural troupe

Inyamibwa AERG Cultural troupe is renowned for their exceptional performances, which they primarily give during traditional weddings. The troupe was started in 1998 by a group of students from AERG at University of Rwanda with the aim of promoting the culture through dance.

The dancing group includes well-known people such as actress Ange Nina Muvunyi commonly known as Mimi, Miss Supranational 2021 Anita Kate Umuratwa, Miss Heritage 2020 Nicole Teta Ndenga, Jo Twins, Melissa Keza, Saddy and Chris and Landry among others.

Inyamibwa has attended a number of events both inside and outside of Africa. They also participated in the 2021 Festival du Confolens, in France.
