Since opening to the public in 2016, Pili Pili has cultivated a reputation as the ultimate outdoor sports bar in Kigali.

On Sunday, Pili Pili will host the official World Cup opening party with Coca Cola starting at 2pm.

The facility boasts of seven large screens and three separate dishes, meaning they can screen as many as three different games at the same time.

That’s not all.

With the FIFA World Cup now underway in Russia, management has been quietly working on its facilities to provide the ultimate sporting experience to its clients and stay ahead of the competition.

Management has erected a giant outdoor projector by the poolside of the artificial beach, where World Cup matches will be screened. This will not only supplement the existing seven screens in the bar, but will be the focal point of the action.

The projector is set up in such a way that revellers can follow the action from any part of the bar, the gardens, poolside, and the upper terrace.

Behind this projector, management has set up an urban soccer pitch that is a quarter the size of a standard football pitch. The pitch is open for those interested in a game of fun football, and is open to adults and children alike. Games will be scheduled to last between 10 to 15 minutes.

The pitch was officially unveiled yesterday, as the World Cup officially got underway.

World Cup aside, Pili Pili still retains its reputation as a favourite family, friends’ and kids’ hangout, with unrivalled views of Kigali and nice open air atmosphere.

According to the owner, Rudy Gthirini, the bar has ample parking space that can accommodate over 200 cars.

"The first games of the World Cup will be played at 2pm, one can easily take the afternoon off from work and enjoy with their family.”

For drinks, the variety ranges from coffee to beers and spirits and cocktails from the resident mixologist, while for a bite, there is a great variety ranging from fish, pizza, steak, to burgers and barbecue.
