Did Kamichi get married?

Word reaching our desk is that local afro beat singer Adolphe Bagabo, alias Kamichi, recently tied the knot in the US where he is currently based.

We are told that the singer married a Rwandan US-based lady in a civil ceremony held in Knoxville, Tennessee, though he has not yet come out to confirm the reports.

Photos of Kamichi and the lady he supposedly married were shared online. This started speculation about the long term relationship he was in with a white lady called Emely Dubois as no one was aware it had ended. Rumour has it that Kamichi left in search of greener pastures and ended the relationship.

Kamichi is known for songs like Aho Ruzingiye, Barandahiye, Byacitse, and Kabimye.

Word has it that the artiste proposed to his wife in April this year and the wedding might take place early next year. It is not known if the two will hold the function in the US or back home. It is said that the guest list included a few close relatives and friends, including Producer Lick Lick.

Young Grace to feature in biopic

Female rapper Young Grace is clearly not one to be restricted to a particular field, if news coming to us is anything to go by.

We are told that the artiste will feature in an upcoming documentary about her music, a journey she started in Rubavu District.

Sources indicate that a crew from the Netherlands will be in Rwanda in a couple of days to shoot the documentary.

We are told that the documentary will feature behind-the-scenes footage, and the artiste will disclose some of the hurdles that she went through as one of the few female rappers in the country, a genre that has long been dominated by men.

Knowless to perform in Lusaka, Maputo

We are told that singer Knowless Butera is getting ready for performances in Lusaka, Zambia and Maputo, Mozambique. It is said that she signed on for the gigs a few weeks ago.

Word has it the artiste’s connections in Zambia may have led to this deal, the connection being that the songbird has collaborated with renowned Zambian musician Roberto.

Her management, that is, her husband Clement Ishimwe, has been working tirelessly to take the singer’s career to greater heights.

Will Diamond choose Mobetto over his family?

Diamond Platnumz seems to attract controversy like honey attracts bees. If you follow the artiste, then you know that he has been having issues with his mother all because of his baby mama, Hamisa Mobetto.

A while back, drama ensued at the musician’s Madale home when his mother, Sanura Kassim, alias Bi Sandra, clobbered Mobetto.

The beating was so thorough that Mobetto’s wig fell off during the scuffle. The vicious fight started when Ms Kassim bumped into Mobetto at Diamond’s home, located in the outskirts of Dar es Salaam. Were it not for the artiste’s quick intervention, Mobetto could have sustained serious injuries, it is said.

Sources close to Diamond’s family say Ms Kassim wants her son to marry his immediate ex-lover, Zari Hassan, and not Mobetto.

It should be remembered that early this year, Diamond hinted at settling down by June. The identity of his better-half is yet to be known, though quotas believe the highly-decorated artiste will marry Mobetto.

Following the Madale fight, Diamond’s sisters Queen Darleen and Esma Platnumz sided with their mother.

The artiste proceeded to buy his baby mama a brand new house.  However, the house is a rental and not bought, as Diamond claims, sources say.

When his relationship with Zari collapsed, it is said that the artiste quickly moved on to Mobetto, which confirms why she got upset when his Iyena video came out, as it featured Zari as his wife.

They say blood is thicker than water, but Mobetto’s power is proving to be equally strong. We will keep you posted.
