The gift of love

My mother recently read a story to me about a man and a cat. This story made me think about how the people in our lives love, care and look after us no matter how unfair we are towards them sometimes.

One day, an old man was having a stroll in the forest when he suddenly saw a little cat stuck in a hole. The poor animal was struggling to get out. So, he gave it his hand to get it out. But the cat scratched his hand with fear. The man pulled his hand away screaming in pain. But he did not stop; he tried to give his hand to the cat again and again.

Another man was watching and screamed with surprise, "For goodness sake! Stop helping this cat! It will get itself out of there.”

The other man ignored him; he just continued trying to save the animal until he finally succeeded. And then he walked to the man and said, "Son, it is the cat’s instinct that makes it scratch, and it is my job to love and care for it.”

I hope after this reading this story you can reflect on your actions towards others.

Moral of the story: Treat everyone around you with love.
