VINCENT Mashami is reported to have been approached by Rayon Sports over a caretaker role following the hasty dismissal of former head coach Ivan Minneart Monday.

It is also understood that the champions are in talks with former Sunrise FC coach Alphonse Gatera, to join the Blues as assistant coach till the end of the 2017/2018 season in August.

According to a source that preferred to remain anonymous, the club is interested in Mashami to lead the team through the remaining league games as well as the upcoming CECAFA Kagame Cup, scheduled for June 29 – July 13 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

"There is a number of coaches we are in talks with, including Mashami and Gatera. We will be able to announce the decision by end of this week. Unfortunately I can’t say much until there is concrete information to share,” the source told Times Sport in an exclusive phone interview.

After firing Minneart and suspending former assistant coaches; Jeannot Witakenge and Marcel Lomami, Times Sport has learned that goalkeepers' coach Ramazan Nkuzingoma has stepped up to guide the team through training as they get ready for Saturday’s clash against APR.
