Eric Gakwaya, the national men and women sitting volleyball teams Assistant coach says players are picking up the pace for the upcoming 2022 World Sitting Volleyball Championships– which will be staged from November 4-11 in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Two weeks ago, the women and men teams started preparing for the tournament. The teams first trained in Musanze District while the second week they were in Gisagara District before holding some sessions in Kigali.

Rwandan teams are under the guidance of head coach Mossad Rashad and assisted by Eric Gakwaya.

"The players [remarkably] looked in shape and responded well in training. We have a lot of work to do to get back to that level, obviously players have to work hard and we shall get there,” Gakwaya, a retired national volleyball left attacker said.

In the World Championship, the women's team is placed in Group C, which includes Egypt and Brazil, while in the men's category, they are in Group D alongside Egypt, Ukraine and the Netherlands.
