The 2017/18 Star Times Rwanda Basketball League season climaxes today with an epic encounter between IPRC-Kigali and IPRC-South, which will determine the fourth team that will participate in this year’s playoff games slated for next month.

The game between the two sister learning institutions starts at 5p.m at Petit Stade Remera in Kigali.  

It’s the only game that was remaining on this season’s league calendar, coming a month after Patriots were crowned. 

The winners today will join champions Patriots, first runners-up REG, and second runners-up APR in the playoffs.

This year’s playoff series are scheduled to start in July after the conclusion of the second window games of FIBA World Cup 2019 – African Qualifiers from June 29 to July 1 in Lagos, Nigeria. Rwanda will participate in the Lagos showpiece.

Former champions Espoir, who ended their games with 21 points, occupy the fourth place, while IPRC-South and IPRC-Kigali are in fifth and sixth positions, respectively, each with 20 points. 

The winners of today’s decisive clash will leapfrog Espoir into fourth place with 22 points and effectively earn a spot in the playoffs..
