Looking for something fun to do this weekend? There’s always something going on in Kigali. Check out our guide for things to do this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Zahara at Kigali Jazz Junction

This month’s edition of the Kigali Jazz Junction is only hours away, and South African jazz sensation Zahara will be the main act. It will take place today at Kigali Serena Hotel and will feature performances from local artiste Social Mula and the Neptunez band. The show starts at 8pm and the tickets go for Rwf5000 (early birds), Rwf10,000 (ordinary), Rwf20,000 (VIP), Rwf160,000 (VIP table of eight), and Rwf220,000 (VIP table of eight with abottle of liquor or wine).

Reading for change

Reading for change is a monthly event organised by Afflatus Africa. It brings together authors, readers, poets, publishers, and librarians to discuss how we can prepare generations to come through reading and writing African stories. It takes place today at the Kigali Public Library, Innovation Village from 3:30 to 7:30pm.

Live and Unplugged

Zimbabwean born Afrosoul songbird Berita is set to stage a performance at the Live and Unplugged show scheduled for Saturday, May 26, at the newly opened Kigali Cultural Village. The show will also include interactive discussions on the role of afro groove music in the continent.

Circle of bookaholics

Nkundagusoma Book club will have an open discussion on righteousness, selfishness and human rights as they review the book "All these things added” by James Allen. It will take place at the Kigali Public Library this Saturday May 26 from 3pm to 5pm. Circle of Bookaholics is a family of Rwandan readers aiming to invest in the future of the country by motivating Rwandans to read.

Ineza Tour

New Woman Ministries in partnership with Moriah Entertainment Group are organising the Ineza Tour, a charity tour concert by Aline Gahongayire. The tour starts this Sunday, May 27 at Eglise Vivante, Kabuga from 3pm to 6:30pm. The concert will feature performances from several gospel artistes like Sam Iyamuremye, Billy Jake, Janvier Kayitana, MD and Babou.

Movies

Have fun with family and friends as you watch the latest movies, Avengers Infinity War, Deadpool 2, and Early Man, showing this weekend at Century Cinema, Kigali located at Kigali City Tower. Showtime is 4pm to 9:30pm.

Night clubs

If you are still looking for places to hang out this weekend, worry not. Kigali has a number of night spots that include The Junction, Chillax Lounge, K-Club, Envy club, People’s Club and Ogopogo.
