The horseman and his land

Long time ago, there was an emperor who told his horseman that if he could ride and cover as much distance as he possibly could, then that land would be given to him.

Sure enough, the horseman jumped onto his horse and rode as fast as possible in order to cover as much land as he could. He kept on riding and riding, whipping the horse to go faster and faster.

He was hungry and tired but he did not stop because he wanted to get as much land as possible. He covered a huge area and became so exhausted to the point of dying.

Then he asked himself "Why did I push myself so hard for so much land? Now I am dying and I only need a very small area to be buried in.” It was pointless for the horseman at the end.

The above story is similar to our journey in life. We push very hard to make money and to become famous. We neglect our health, families, our hobbies and the beautiful environment we have.

The fact remains that we do not really need that much. Life is not only about making money and becoming famous. Work is only necessary to keep us living so as to keep us enjoying the beauty and pleasure of life.

Therefore, life is a balance between work, play, family and personal time. It’s your choice to balance your life by knowing what your priorities are.
