Gicumbi FC head coach Abdul Bizimana has warned Police to expect a tough contest as his relegation-threatened side battle for survival.

The two Azam Rwanda Premier League sides face off this afternoon in a match-day 23 fixture at Kicukiro Stadium.

The Gicumbi District-sponsored side is second-last on the 16-team league table with 19 points, having only managed five victories out of 22 games.

Bizimana, who joined Gicumbi two months ago, is confident of keeping his team in the topflight league but, according to him, it will take ‘extraordinary’ effort.

"I took over the team at such a bad time. However, I am an optimist and I am confident that my technical team and I will keep Gicumbi in the premier league,” the former Amagaju coach told Times Sport yesterday.

After today’s clash against the law enforcers, Gicumbi’s next two league games will be against Mukura at home, and Amagaju away.

In another two games slated for today, Espoir host Kirehe in Rusizi District, while Sunrise will be up against Bugesera in Nyagatare District.
