KT Global donates Rwf5m in ICT equipment

Korean Telecommunication Global (KT Global) gave ICT and scholastic materials to Wimana Primary School  in Kamonyi District worth over Rwf5 million.

The materials donated included laptops, books and other basic scholastic materials.

The support aimed at strengthening ties and improving ICT literacy among teachers and students at the primary school level.

Ephrem Mutambuka, the head teacher of the school, said they appreciate the support which will improve the quality of education and computer literacy.

"By using these computers, teachers will be able to enhance their knowledge in ICT and impart the same skills to students. This is significant as they will no longer be left behind in technology and modern education,” he said. 

He added that ICT driven education is a tool to strengthen education systems, knowledge dissemination, information access and more efficient service provision and for this, they expect to get more intensive training for teachers.

TK Global president Kyounglim Yun said that the support given to the school is under their overall objective to integrate ICT across all sectors, especially in education. They hope that, through ICT skills, students will have a good foundation to attain other capabilities needed in the labour market.
