APR 106-70 Tigers

Champions APR on Wednesday night, March 13, eased past Tigers with a 106-70 victory that moved them at the top of the basketball league table standings.

The army side won the first two quarters,31-19 and 20-19, to take control of the game early before halftime.

Tigers, who were hosting the game at Lycée de Kigali Gymnasium, returned to the second half pushing to win the third quarter in an attempt to cause an upset on the Mazen Trakh’s side but the champions were too strong from all departments to break.

The visitors took the third quarter 25-19 and the fourth 30—13 to register their fifth victory in a row.

Adonis Filer posted a team high 22 points for APR while Michael Dixon and Jean Jacques Nshobozwabyosenumukiza contributed 21 and 17, respectively.

Meanwhile, Tigers&039; point guard Fiston Irutingabo finished the game leading 22 points despite being on the losing side.

APR are now top the table with 10 points are level on points with REG and Patriots who are second and third, respectively.

The league, which is currently in its first round, continues Friday, March 15, when Kigali Titans host APR while Patriots take on REG. Both games will take place at Lycée de Kigali Gymnasium.
