What the Bible says about fornication
Saturday, May 12, 2018

Do your desires over power you and you have no idea of how to control them? Well, you have got to stand on a firm rock which is Jesus Christ. It is lovely to enjoy life to our fullest but what matters is how we spend it.

God is displeased with fornicators, that is why the book of Ecclesiastes in 11:9 says, "You who are young, be happy while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth.

Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.” Let us enjoy carefully and know that God does not befriend fornicators. Fornication is any kind of sexual activity outside marriage, or between unmarried persons.

We ought to keep our bodies holy, for the married, the bible says be faithful and for the singles keep yourself safe until you get married. 1 Corinthians 6:13 says, "You say, "Food for the stomach and the stomach for food, and God will destroy them both.” The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.” Use your body to glorify the Lord; it must be clean and pleasing to Him.

Let your body praise and worship Him because He created you with love; you have to love him back by doing what He wishes you to do. Keep your paths straight.

The bible explains in Colossians 3:5, "Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.” How can you kill such evil acts? Through surrendering your whole to God and let him take his position in your life; however you can resist from temptations as well.

If you cannot abstain yet you are a widow, the bible encourages you to get married again. 1Corinthians 7:8-9 urges, "Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do. But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.”

Be close to God and He will guide your steps and actions, He does not want hypocrites, He wants your whole being but not parts of you. Be an example to others, preach the gospel, pray for the sick, give to the needy, forgive those who hurt you and most importantly, love your neighbors just as you love yourself. When you do God’s will, He will generously bless you. 2Timothy 2:22 states, "Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”

The bible teaches that Jesus will come back for a stainless church, free from sin. You ought to turn from the sinful way and turn to the Lord. Ephesians 5:5 says, "For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person such a person is an idolater has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.” You have to work for the kingdom of heaven.

Sin starts from the mind, think about the thoughts you feed your mind with. Are you that kind of person that feels incomplete without the opposite sex on your side, you have got to clean up your mind.

Fornication can be through action or thoughts. Do not admire any woman that is not yours because Matthew 5:28 urges,” But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”

The bible warns us about the canal mind, feed your soul with God’s word instead of lust because the end result of sin is perishing .Galatians 5:19 explains,” The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery.”
