What the bible teaches about health

God explains good physical, mental, and spiritual health in the bible. We are called upon to keep our minds, bodies and souls pure.

Ephesians 5:18 heartens, "Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit,” When you notice that what you are feeding on is contrary to what the bible teaches, do away with it, for example when you drink yourself silly and act useless, it is advisable to stay away from alcohol as it is written in 1Corinthians 10:31, "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

Proverbs 17:22 clarifies that a cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. There we ought to resist any tough situation and stand with faith, and give Glory to God believing that no condition is permanent. Let us not be weary because in due season our Lord will provide. He wants us to worship Him when we are in our right mood.

The word of God encourages us to produce and multiply the world; it is through God’s blessings that we are able to give birth to children. Deuteronomy 28:53 says, "Because of the suffering your enemy will inflict on you during the siege, you will eat the fruit of the womb, the flesh of the sons and daughters the Lord your God has given you.”

God’s word is food to our minds that is why we ought to give ear to His teachings day and night because it is through it that we can be new and healthy. Proverbs 4:20-22 says, "My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight; keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.”

Sin will only grab your happiness and make you miserable; you have got to tap on the anointing of God. Proverbs 3:7-8 states, "Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.”

Let us follow God’s commandments, we ought to exalt Him for his Goodness and keep our actions clean, that is how he can protect us against all illnesses. Exodus15:26 enlightens, "He said, "If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”

When you do not respect your body, you are considered dirty in God’s presesnce.1Corinthians 6:19-20 encourages us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in us, whom we have received from God, we are not our own; we were bought at a price; Therefore we should honor God with our bodies.

1Corinthians 6:13 says, "Food is for the stomach, and the stomach is for food, but God will make them both unnecessary. The body is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.” Brethren, what could ever bring contentment to us, is feeding on the word of God daily as it will never perish and it is eternal life, did you know that the bible has all the answers to you questions? Try reading it more often, it will guide you.
