AS Kigali will be keen to maintain their winning momentum when they play away to Sunrise FC as the chase for Azam Rwanda Premier League hots up.

Skipper Soter Kayumba has challenged his teammates to remain razor-sharp and take every game very seriously as the City of Kigali-sponsored club bids for a historic maiden league title.

Eric Nshimiyimana’s green-and-yellow side face eighth-placed Sunrise this afternoon at Nyagatare grounds – starting at 3:30pm.

"We have to keep winning, and more so against big clubs. Morale in the squad is high and team spirit has never been better. Sunrise is a serious opponent. We should make no mistake against them,” Kayumba told Times Sport in an exclusive interview on Wednesday.

In other fixtures today, APR take on Kirehe in Kirehe District while Rusizi-based Espoir FC will be hosting fourth-placed Kiyovu. Both games also start at 3:30pm.

Former Peace Cup winners AS Kigali top the 16-team table standings with 41 points, one ahead of APR. Should Sunrise upset AS Kigali and the military side defeat Kirehe, the record 16-time champions will climb atop of the table.
