Tuesday Mukura 0-2 Amagaju Police 2-2 Musanze Kirehe 1-1 Rayon Sports

Rayon Sports squandered an opportunity to go top of the league table yesterday after they were held 1-1 by Kirehe FC.

Youngster Jean-Paul Uwimbabazi rescued a point for his side in the 50th minute to deny Rayon Sports three points away from home.

Rwanda’s representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup had taken the lead in 33rd minute through left back Eric Rutanga, who had played in midfield in the last two games – against Bugesera and Kirehe.

The result took Rayon into second place with 35 points. The Blues have as many points as leaders AS Kigali but the latter have more goals and a game in hand.

Forward Uwihoreye’s strike puts Kirehe into 11th place with 22 points.

After the game, Kirehe coach Francois Kalisa praised the 21-year old striker. "He’s a talented boy and you can see how he has improved this season.”

"I am happy with the way my team played but we have to stay focused and improve in every game,” he added.

Meanwhile, Musanze came from behind twice to hold Police 2-2. Eric Ngendahimana netted the opening goal in the 11th minute before Musanze equalised in the 18th minute through Wai Yeka.

Isaie Songa scored the second for the law enforcers in the 47th minute before Wai Yeka struck his second for the day in the 60th minute to level matters again.

In the other match, Amagaju beat Mukura 2-0.

Meanwhile, AS Kigali will take on Gicumbi at Gicumbi Stadium today, while Espoir face Marines with Etincelles up against Sunrise.

Tomorrow, Bugesera face bottom side Miroplast while SC Kiyovu and APR will face off at Kigali Stadium.
