Kibengo and Niyonzima fire AS Kigali on top

Striker Jimmy Kibengo Mashingirwa (aka Jimmy Mbaraga) and midfielder Ally Niyonzima scored two goals as ten-man AS Kigali beat APR FC 2-0 at Kigali Stadium on Sunday.

Mashingirwa netted the opening goal in the 35th minute while Niyonzima scored the second in the 74th minute. The win sends AS Kigali on top of the league table with 35 points.

AS Kigali played 81 minutes with ten men after former APR striker Michel Ndahinduka was given a red card early in the game.

On Saturday, Hussein Tchabalala Shaban scored a hat-trick as Rayon Sports humiliated Bugesera 5-0 at Kigali Stadium. The other two goals were netted by Ismaila Diarra.

He has now netted nine goals for Rayon Sports in all competitions since he joined the team in January.

Elsewhere, Kirehe beat Musanze 2-1 while Police beat Amagaju 1-0. However, Mukura and Etincelles tie has been postponed due to rain in Ngororero which delayed the Rubavu-based side to reach Huye on time.

In other matches, on Sunday, Marines beat Gicumbi 2-0 while Sunrise FC 1-1 drew against Espoir.
