Muhadjiri scores winner as Police FC end eight-game winless streak

Police FC ended their eight-game winless run in the Primus National League after a hard fought 2-1 victory over Gasogi United at Kigali Pele Stadium on Sunday, March 10.

The law enforcers came from behind to claim all three points through Muhadjiri Hakizimana 60th minute winner.

Coach Vincent Mashami, who has been under intense pressure following the team's recent abysmal performances, made a host of changes to his side with the likes of Hesbon Rutonesha, Chukwuma Odili and Bienvenue Mugenzi all making it into his starting 11.

Gasogi, on the other hand, had their full set with their key players such as Serge Kabanda, Hakim Hamiss, and Akbar Muderi all in action.

Gasogi stunned Police FC in the 22nd minute through Hamiss after they had maintained possession for some time.

The goal brought the best out of Police as they went all out creating numerous chances. Skipper Dominque Savio Nshuti restored parity for Police in the 37th minute.

Police maintained their dominance in the second half and increased the tally through Muhadjiri in the 60th minute.

Both teams had some quality chances in the final quarter of the game but failed to utilize them as Police run away with a 2-1 win brought their winless run of eighth game to an end.
