It is a collabo season between Rwandan musicians and their Ugandan counterparts. Local musical duo, Charly na Nina are the latest to walk down that road, following the release of their collabo –‘I Do.’

The groovy love song was produced at Power Records in Kampala, Uganda by producer Ronny. The video clip, by Ugandan video producer Sasha Vybz was released officially on Tuesday.

‘I Do’ is the typical love ballad in which a man (Bebe Cool) expresses his love for his lady, and asks to put a marital ring on her finger, to which she says ‘I Do’. It is set to a groovy, Zouk-ish beat that makes it highly danceable.

The video clip utilizes a lot of color white to reinforce the theme of a wedding. To enhance the Rwanda-Uganda connection, Bebe Cool drops some Kinyarwanda lines towards the end of his last verse.

‘I Do’ is the second collaboration by Charly na Nina featuring a Ugandan musician. In 2016, the duo collaborated with Ugandan singer Geosteady on the highly successful hit, Owooma.

For ‘I Do’, the Zahabu singers hooked up with Bebe Cool earlier this month, while in Kampala to perform at the Rwanda Connect musical event.

During the same time, Charly na Nina also managed to record another collabo titled ‘Embeera Zo’, with Ugandan Dancehall sensation Sheebah Karungi.

However, the deal went sour shortly after, with the two parties to failing to agree on an appropriate time to shoot a video for the song.

Eventually, Sheebah went ahead and recorded the song afresh, replacing Charly na Nina with Bruce Melodie.

Charly na Nina are currently gearing up for their European tour that kicks off in Belgium on May 5th. The tour will also see them perform in France, Switzerland, and Sweden.
