Charles Kakooza Nkuriza, aka KNC, is also the founder and Managing Director of TV and Radio 1. File.

After having a shot at virtually every job on the local showbiz circuit, self-styled entertainer and media mogul KNC, born Charles Kakooza Nkuriza, is finally returning to where his heart truly belongs.

KNC, who owns a local media company that operates outlets TV1 and Radio 1, is presently holed up in intense rehearsals for the launch of his upcoming album, ‘Heart Desire’ that is slated for July.

It is the fourth studio album by the R&B singer, who has had an on-and-off musical career as he juggled different showbiz pursuits.

‘Heart Desire’ is also the title track of the 16-song album, which was crafted by a host of music production talents, including Pastor P, Andy, Aron Tunga, and KNC himself.

Apart from the title track, some of the other songs on the alum include ‘Hold you tight’, ‘Love Sultan’, ‘Har’igihe ukunda’, and ‘Ijoro ryiza.’

The album launch will be a big  affair, with a VIP concert on July 27th, at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (Camp Kigali).

In a move that indicates how ambitious KNC’s comeback plans are; the singer went all the way to South Africa to secure the signature of music icon Yvonne Chaka Chaka.

Nicknamed the Princess of Africa, Chaka Chaka is better known for songs such as ‘Umqomboti’, ‘Thank you Mr. DJ’, ‘Mamaland’, ‘Let me be free’, and ‘Let him go’.

Last year, she walked home with the International Global Good Star and Power Award at the BET awards in Cape Town, South Africa. Chaka Chaka is also a UNICEF goodwill ambassador against malaria, and the ambassador for the Roll-Back Malaria campaign.

Her organisation, the Princess of Africa Foundation promotes literacy and promotion of women’s and children’s rights across the continent.
