Dear editor,

I would like to pass my vote of thanks through your paper to doctors at King Fisal Hospital for the good work they are doing.

My special thanks go to the Executive Chairman of King Faisal Hospital (KFH), Dr. Innocent Nyaruhirira, for introducing an airstrip at the hospital premises.

In the past, patients would be transported by helicopter to Kanombe airport before being driven to the hospital. As a result of delays on the road, some patients in critical conditions would die. But it’s different these days; because helicopters directly land at the hospital.

My great appreciation also go to Dr. Joseph Mucumbitsi, for sourcing heart specialists who operated many people (adults and children) suffering from heart related problems. The ‘Open Heart’ team, he invited to help Rwandan doctors did a wonderful job.

These doctors worked relentlessly in the operation theatres just to make a difference in the lives of Rwandans. Today parents cannot stop thanking these doctors for saving the lives of their children who can now go back to school and the adults who are back to their usual daily routines.

All this happened because of doctors who truly care for their people. Thank you Dr. Nyaruhirira and Dr. Mucumbitsi as well as the K.F.H staff for all that they are doing to make a difference in peoples’ lives.
