U19 AFCON Qualifiers: Kenya fly in today ahead of CAF tie against Junior Wasps

Kenya National U20 Team Rising Stars, is expected in Kigali this afternoon ahead of Saturday’s second-leg clash against Junior Wasps in qualifiers of the 2019 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

According to Football Kenya Federation, the team lands at Kigali International Airport at 3:10 PM aboard Kenya Airways.

Vincent Mashami’s youngsters host Kenya in the return-leg of the first round qualifier, this Saturday at Kigali Regional Stadium.

Rwanda held Kenya to a 1-all draw in the first-leg played on April 1 at Kenyatta Stadium in Nairobi.

The winner of the two-leg tie will play reigning champions Zambia in the second round of the qualifiers.

Under the tutelage of former Harambee Stars head coach Stanley Okumbi, the Kenyan delegation will be hosted at Kigali View Hotel in Nyamirambo, and are set for a training session on Friday afternoon at Kigali Regional Stadium.

To advance to the second round, Rwanda will need a draw or win over the Kenyan counterparts.

Rwanda last competed in the AfricaU-20 Cup of Nations in 2009 when the country hosted the tournament, which was won by the Black Satellites of Ghana after beating Cameroun 2-0 in the final.
