Habineza resigns from FERWAFA secretary general role
Tuesday, April 17, 2018

Emmanuel Habineza (pictured) yesterday tendered in his resignation as interim secretary general of Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) after only two months in office.

Habineza, who has previously served as deputy secretary general, chief budget manager and head of administration and finance, was on February 2 appointed as interim secretary general to replace Latifah Tharcille Uwamahoro.

FERWAFA communications manager Bonnie Mugabe confirmed to Times Sports that Habineza had resigned but that he had not indicated the reasons for his decision.

"Ferwafa received the resignation notice of the acting secretary general but he did not indicate why he has resigned,” Mugabe said yesterday.

The FERWAFA executive committee is expected to discuss the resignation and decide on the way forward. Efforts by Times Sport to reach Habineza for a comment were futile as he could not answer his mobile phone number.
