Abdoul Karim Nduhirabandi has resigned as head coach of Azam Rwanda Premier League side Kirehe FC after six months in charge of the club.

In a letter, dated April 12, 2018, addressed to club board of directors, Nduhirabandi said he had taken the decision to step down because of the current situation at the club.

"Things are not going well,” said Nduhirabandi without elaborating.

Club president Christopher Munyangeri confirmed to Times Sport on Sunday they had received the resignation letter. 

"He has informed us that he is leaving and we have to respect his decision. We will look for his replacement but, in the meantime, the assistant coach (Peacemaker Habimana) will be in charge of the team,” Munyangeri said.

He said they hoped to appoint a new coach in about five days to help with the team’s push to avoid relegation from topflight football league.

Kirehe are in 13th place with 15 points.   

Nduhirabandi had moved to Kirehe in September from Marines where he had been since in 1998, first as a player and then coach.
