APR star Sharaf Eldin Shaiboub and Mukura Victory Sports winger Samuel Pimpong are leading the race for the Primus National League player of the month award for February.
The February awards shortlist which was announced on Wednesday, March 6, saw Shaiboub, who has been in fantastic form for the army side in the second round of the 2023/24 season, spearheading the shortlist for the coveted award alongside mercurial Pimpong of Mukura Victory.
The Sudanese scored four goals in February, including a brace against Marines and one each against Sunrise and Mukura VS, whereas Pimpong scored a brace against Sunrise on February 17 while his football masterclass also helped the Huye-based side beat Police FC 2-0 at Huye Stadium on February 8.

Shaiboub found himself on the player of the month shortlist for the first time since the awards were introduced in December while Pimpong returned to the shortlist for the second time after losing the December goal of the month award to former teammate Elia Kategeya.
The Player of the Month award shortlist also includes AS Kigali's Shabani Hussein who netted twice in February including a winning penalty against Police FC on February 24, as well as Amagaju forward Destin Malanda who scored twice in February.

The coach of the month award features AS Kigali coach Guy Bukasa who picked three wins in four games in February against Gorilla, Marines and Police.
Bukasa is vying for the prize for the second time, as he holds the January coach of the month award after an impressive start to life at the Citizens.
He faces stiff competition from APR gaffer Thierry Froger who makes the monthly award shortlist for the third time in a row.
The Frenchman made the cut as a reward for helping league leaders APR FC to secure four wins and one draw in February.
Froger will be looking to finally bag the award he twice lost to Vincent Mashami and Guy Bukasa in December and January respectively.
Other contenders include Musanze FC coach Sosthene Habimana who recorded two important away wins against Mukura and Rayon Sports. Rayon's Julien Mette was also nominated after picking four wins in five games in February.
