Rwanda Cricket Federation boss Stephen Musaale believes that Rwanda's women are traveling to Accra, Ghana, with enough package to win medals at All African Games in Ghana.

Rwanda participated in the NCF T20 Invitational Tournament in Nigeria which they used as a preparatory competition for the continental games in Ghana.

It is the first time that Cricket will be featured in the All Africa Games and, the continental games serve as a qualifier for the Paris 2024 Games, the sport will not debut in the Olympic Games until Los Angeles 2028.

The women's edition of cricket in the All African Games runs from March 7 to March 13 and Musaale is confident his charges can excel having already tasted global action in the U19 Women's Cricket World Cup in South Africa in January 2023.

"First and foremost, we emphasized camaraderie within the team," Musaale said.

"The blend of teamwork and strategic planning are crucial elements of success. I am optimistic about Rwanda's chances."

An undeniably emerging force in women's cricket on the African continent, Rwanda women were pooled in Group B alongside neighbors Uganda, Kenya as well as Zimbabwe.

Leonard Nhambhuro's side will play their opening game against Zimbabwe on March 7 before facing Kenya on March 8. They will round up with a game against Uganda on March 10.

The top two teams from the Group stages qualify for the semifinals.
