Chinese medics under the 24th Chinese Medical Team have donated equipment and medicine worth about 100,000 yuan (approximately Rwf 17.9 million) to Kibungo Referral Hospital.

The government of China, through a long term partnership with Rwanda, sends a medical team to the country every year.

The arrangement which has been happening since 1982 has seen many Chinese medics serve in Rwanda, offering support to their Rwandan counterparts in treating various conditions in Masaka and Kibungo hospitals.

Dr. John Gahima, Director General of Kibungo Hospital said the hospital will benefit from the equipment in teaching the students who come to study there and also in the treatment of patients.
