RWANDA U20 will take on SC Kiyovu today at Amahoro Stadium in the former’s last build-up game ahead of the first leg of their 2019 U20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier that will pit them against Kenya on April 1.

The friendly match between Rwanda U20 and SC Kiyovu will be the last opportunity for head coach Vincent Mashami to assess his team before they head to Kenya on Friday for the 2019 U20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

He is also expected to use the game to assemble his final selection from the 30-man pre-selected squad that he currently has.

The junior wasps drew 1-1 against Police in the first warm-up match played last Saturday.

Mashami said all players are in fine form and such warm up games against top teams from the senior league will boast the confidence of the youngsters ahead of the Kenya tie.

"SC Kiyovu is good team and it is now is among the top four on the senior league table standing and I hope they will give a challenge to my young players and impart on them the much-needed experience before we travel to Kenya ” Mashami said.

Mashami will name the final team of 18-man squad on March 30.

The first leg will be staged on April 1 at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos County, while the return leg will be played on April 21 at Kigali Stadium in Nyamirambo.

The winners between Rwanda and Kenya will face defending champions Zambia in the second round in May. The final qualifying round will be staged in July with the winners earning automatic slots to next year’s Africa U20 Cup of Nations.

The U-20 Africa Cup of Nations is held every two years with the top 4 teams qualifying for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
