The Ben to sign Luc Belaire deal

US-based Rwandan musician The Ben has enjoyed a fruitful career. Great things have happened for the artiste including sealing deals with telecom companies and staging mega concerts.

And it looks like the artiste is still on the road of success. We are told that the R&B singer who was in Rwanda last year may be returning home for another lucrative commercial deal.

The singer announced his return to Africa on his Instagram page; "Africa, I’m coming through.”

Word has it that The Ben will be flying to the region, specifically Kenya, where he will finalise a commercial deal with Luc Belaire, a brand of sparkling wine from southern France.

News reaching us is that once the deal is signed, the singer will become one of the brand ambassadors for the iconic brand.

Belaire is working with a selection of globally recognised artistes and influencers to take the brand to another level. They include Rick Ross, Dave East, DJ Khaled, Nigeria’s Yemi Alade, and Diamond Platnumz in Tanzania.

Are Senderi’s Guma-Guma days over?

Senderi International Hit is a man of perseverance. Giving up is not in his DNA, and that can be seen in his many attempts at winning Guma-Guma with no success, and of course, the times the competition has eluded him completely.

Known for his dramatic stage performances, this year, the singer once again missed out on Braliwa’s mega competition, Primus Guma-Guma Super Star season 8.

Last year, the artiste barely released any music, and sadly for him, it cost him a spot on the Guma-Guma stage, a concert he has sturdily been a part of. It was said that organisers bar any one above 35 years of age to participate, something Senderi strongly disagrees with. In January, he slammed organisers for setting unrealistic standards, saying that music shouldn’t be about age, but experience and what one can deliver.

Sadly for Senderi, this might just be life’s way of telling him to move on. We wish him all the best.

Why did Weasel fire manager Chagga?

Surviving Goodlyfe singer Douglas Mayanja alias Weasel dropped a bombshell a few days ago when he stated that he had parted ways with his long-time manager Chagga. The soft spoken artiste stated that though he is reserved and humble, people should not mistake his personality for foolishness.

"Because Radio died and that I am a reserved man who keeps quiet, you think I am foolish…”he stated.

According to Weasel, he cannot allow Chagga to force him to work because he is still healing from the death of Mowzey Radio.

"I am sorry to say this but I had tried to be strong after Radio’s death but someone is stressing me to work hard. You can’t make me work when I’m stressed. As for now you are fired,” he stated.

However, fans are not convinced with Weasel’s explanation. While Weasel stated that he was too stressed to perform at shows, fans reminded him that he has actively been performing at Bryan White’s events.

Bryan White is a Ugandan socialite known to spend insane amounts of money. Fans argue that White might just be the reason behind the artiste’s decision and that he may come on board as Weasel’s manager.

"The end of Goodlyfe” one fan commented. "And stop using Radio’s death to get sympathy from fans. Yes we know you’re grieving, but we’re grieving too. Whatever nonsense you’re doing is only out of excitement from Bryan White’s so called foundation. Radio will not rest in peace because you have started disorganising what he started with you.”

In an interview over the weekend, Chagga blamed Bryan White for misleading Weasel.

Are Davido and Bashabe just friends?

Nigerian singer Davido recently staged a mega concert in Kigali at Amahoro Stadium. But his time here was characterised by dramatic events, from drunken stunts on stage to ‘mingling’ with socialites.

It was earlier rumoured that Davido and Rwandan Instagram queen, Shaddy Boo, got ‘close’. Screenshots of the artiste liking almost every picture posted by the socialite sparked allegations that Shaddy was getting more than just an autograph from the Fall singer.

Snoops tell us that another socialite and fashionista, Kate Bashabe, might have also gotten a little too comfortable with the artiste.

On the day of the show, Davido and Bashabe were spotted entering the same car.

Speculation brewed from various people, with many saying that Bashabe had a fling with the artiste.

However, she refuted the rumours saying that Davido is a friend and that he was to attend a private party at Signature Lounge that she hosted. We believe you Kate!
