RWAMAGANA - President Paul Kagame and his family yesterday joined hundreds of Christians to celebrate Christmas at Rwamagana Catholic church.

Addressing a huge congregation led by the bishop of Eastern Rwanda, Monsignor Kizito Bahusemihigo, Kagame wished all Rwandans a happy, peaceful and progressive new year.

Delivering his Christmas greetings to the faithful, the President also touched on issues of concern to the country, putting emphasis on activities that give value to human life.

He underlined that apart from the usual Christmas prayers and thanksgiving, it should also be an occasion for people to think about matters that concern improving their situation and advancing the country.

Looking back at the country’s turbulent past, particularly the well known history of poverty and poor political thinking, he urged the worshipers to also use this time to think about the country’s future development.

Kagame also thanked them for the many good things achieved in the last year.
