Djuma Nizeyimana scored the opening goal in stoppage time of first-half before Placide Aime Uwineza added a second late on in injury time.

Victory for Kiyovu took Andre Casa Mbungo’s team to 28 points from 15 matches, one point ahead of second-placed Rayon Sports, who won 2-0 against Marines FC at Kigali Stadium. However, Rayon have played a game less and are due to play their postponed tie against Sunrise FC on March 26.

AS Kigali, who host Musanze FC at Kigali Stadium on Monday, dropped from the first to third position but have the opportunity to reclaim the top place with a win today.

Meanwhile, Innocent Seninga’s Police FC saw their title hopes fade further following a 1-0 defeat against Kirehe at Nyakarambi ground. It was the second successive defeat for Police, who also lost to Bugesera FC by the same score last week.

Sunrise FC stay fourth with 25 points following a 2-1 away victory against bottom side Miroplast FC Mironko grounds..
