AFTER spending two years with Musanze FC, head coach Sosthene Habimana has resigned as head coach.

The secretary general of Musanze FC, Moussa Masumbuko, said on Tuesday that they had received Habimana’s resignation letter.

"Last week management of club wrote a letter to Habimana to explain why the team had been performing poorly since the season started, and he instead tendered in his resignation,” Masumbuko said.

Masumbuko said that the assistant coach Bill Mbusa Kombe will work as interim coach.

Habimana said he took the decision of resigning because of the poor performance of the club.

"I have been here for the last two-years. I know I still had four months on my contract but I decided to resign due to poor performance of the club,” said Habimana.

The former Rayon Sports assistant coach guided Sunrise to 8th place in 2015, and won the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in 1999 with Rwanda B.

Last Saturday Musanze FC drew 0-0 against Gicumbi on Match Day 11 fixtures. Musanze FC is in twelveth place with ten points in Azam Rwanda Premier league.
