SC KIYOVU will be looking to maintain their lead at the top of Azam Rwanda Premier League table when they host 12th-placed Bugesera FC on Sunday at Mumena Stadium.

Andre Casa Mbungo’s team has a 2 point lead at the top of the league standing with 20 points after ten matches, ahead of AS Kigali with 18, which has the same number of points with defending champion Rayon Sports while APR are fourth with 17 points.

"Bugesera is big league game for us and one that we are focused on winning, I am happy the team has been doing well, everyone has been working hard to give 100 percent in every game and I hope we will keep the same spirit,” Mbungo said

He added "my players are ready to fight for one another other to keep the top spot. We have had a good run but I’ m sure we can do a lot better.”

His counterpart Thierry Hitimana of Bugesera, says his team will go into the match looking for a third win from ten matches in a season that started with four defeats, two wins and four draws.

"It is hard to say that you will beat a big team like SC Kiyovu but we want a good performance, we need to be better at the back and make sure we don’t gift them goals. If we manage to defend well, it will be easier for us to get something from them,” the former Amavubi player said.
