Gisagara maintain unbeaten run

VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE DEFENDING CHAMPIONS Gisagara Volleyball Club have maintained their unbeaten run in volleyball league after beating IPRC East and Rwanda Energy Group (REG) respectively on Saturday night at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.

VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE DEFENDING CHAMPIONS Gisagara Volleyball Club have maintained their unbeaten run in volleyball league after beating IPRC East and Rwanda Energy Group (REG) respectively on Saturday night at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.

In the opening game, REG beat IPRC East 3-0 before Gisagara beat the Ngoma-based side 3-0 while later at night Gisagara beat rivals REG 3-1 (25-21, 25-20, 29-27 and 25-23).

In Southern Province, IPRC South beat Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC) 3-1, KVC again lost to APR 1-3 while APR beat IPRC South 3-0.

In Ngoma, Univeristy of Kibungo (UNIK) lost at home to University of Tourism, Technology and Business Studies (UTB) 1-3 while UTB defeated Kirehe 3-1 before UNIK lost the second game against Kirehe 3-1.

In women’s category defending champions, Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) beat youthful side ST Aloys in five sets thriller 3-2 while St Aloys again lost to APR 1-3, however, the match of the day in women category, APR beat defending champions in five set thriller, 3-2.

In other matches held in Ruhango at Indangaburezi High School, Ruhango beat St Joseph 3-0, IPRC Kigali defeated St Joseph 3-1 while Ruhango beat IPRC Kigali 3-0.

After four games played so far, in men’s category, Gisagara is leading the table with 11 points followed by UTB with 10 points, APR and REG are in third and fourth places with 9 points respectively.

Kirehe followed in fifth place with 6 points while UNIK, IPRC South and IPRC East followed with 3 points each while former champions, KVC are bottom with zero point.

After two games, in women category Ruhango is leading the table with 6 points while APR has five points, IPRC Kigali has 3 points same as the champions RRA while St Joseph has zero point same as KVC, who have not played any game..
