APR’S new forward Dominique Savio Nshuti believes he made the right decision to join the military side and is ready to help the club compete for honors.

Nshuti moved from top division side AS Kigali, partying ways with Eric Nshimiyimana’s team only seven months after joining them from another topflight side, Rayon Sports.

After taking part in APR’s first training session on Monday, the forward said: "The club has quality players in its ranks, I believe we will have a successful season.”

"I have been dreaming of joining APR since I was young because of Jean Baptiste ‘Migi’ Mugiraneza who I have for a long been looking up to,” added the Rwanda international.

I hope to give my best and believe I have the ability to help the team win trophies for many years, starting next season, added the youngster. .

The record 16-time league champions started training on Monday ahead of the next fixtures of the 2017/18 Azam Rwanda Premier League, Peace Cup and Caf Confederation Cup competitions.

APR paid Rwf16 million for Nshuti, who only joined AS Kigali from league champions Rayon Sports this season, for the same amount even as he was a free agent at the time. He will earn Rfw700,000 a month.

Nshuti ‘forced’ his way from AS Kigali accusing the City of Kigali-sponsored club of breaching the three-year contract he signed with them seven months ago.

At APR, he’ll have the opportunity to play alongside his childhood idol, Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza, who rejoined APR this month after stints in Tanzania and Kenya.

The club has also recently re-signed another of their former players, Jean Claude Iranzi, who returned home after a spell in Zambia’s premier league.

The first game for Nshuti in APR colours will be against his former team, Rayon Sports, on Thursday during the final day of the Heroes Cup tournament at Amahoro National Stadium.
