Azam Rwanda Premier League side Kirehe FC will be hoping to avoid early exit when they take on Interfoce FC of the second division league in the preliminary round of the 2018 Peace Cup on Tuesday at Rwamagana Police ground.

According to head coach Abdul Karim Nduhirabandi, his team will go into the game looking for nothing less than victory and a place in the next round of the knockout competition.

"The aim is to win the first game against Interforce and wait to see what will happen in the next round,” Nduhirabandi said on Monday.

Another topflight division side Miroplast FC will face second division outfit University of Rwanda (UR FC) at Stade de Muhanga.

Out of 22 teams in preliminary round, 11 teams will qualify for the 1/16 round, then the losing 11 teams + Sorwathe FC will face-off to get six teams that will be joined by those that reached the last 16 round, last year.

From the round of 32, the competition will be played over two legs until the semi-final stage where eventual winners will face-off in the final. APR are defending champions and will represent Rwanda in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup.
