Fidele Mubirigi from APR Athletics Club is standing unopposed for the post RAF president and Olivier Umutangana is the single candidate standing for SG’s position.

Dieu Donne Tabaruka is shorted listed for the position of treasurer, while Jean Marie Vienne Mupenzi, Angelique Umuhoza, Sandrine Murangwa both from Nyamaseke Athletics Club, as well as Jean Bosco Mutuyezu(APR) are standing for the Commissioners role, where only two will be elected.

Rutagegwa noted that, "We examined all the candidates and they are fit to stand, while there are other candidates who failed meet the requirements and where dropped.”

According to Rutajegwa, all the former top three executive committee officials including former president Jean Paul Munyandamutsa and Johnson Rukundo, the secretary-general, pulled out of the contest on "personal grounds.”

"Serge Gasore who had submitted his documents for the post of secretary general as a sole aspirant also pulled out because he said he would not be able to combine both tasks and the duties of his Gasore Foundation,” Rutajwega told Sunday Sport.

Six clubs namely: APR Athletics Club, Nyamasheke, Rwamagana, Rubavu-based Vision Jeunesse, Gicumbi-based Mountain Classic and SEC Academy are expected to vote in today’s election.

The new elected committee will run the local track and field body governing body for the next four years.
