Why we must all fight global warming

Global warming refers to the general increase of temperature on the earth’s surface. Global warming has different causes and effects on people, animals and plants in general. In this article, I will be talking about many of the processes and things that lead to global warming which include ozone layer depletion, pollution and many more, and how we can prevent the spread of global warming across the world.

The following are some of the different causes of global warming;

First of all, global warming comes as a result of ozone layer depletion. Ozone layer depletion refers to the destruction of the ozone layer by the chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and methane gas. When these CFCs, which include carbon dioxide (CO2) and many more gases, reach the ozone layer, they create holes in the ozone layer called atmospheric windows. When these windows are created, it makes way for the ultra violet rays which are dangerous to living things. These rays come as short waves and  when they reach the earth, they are absorbed by plants and then they become long waves. When these rays bounce back, they can’t penetrate because of the gases that are in the atmosphere. Hence, the rays accumulate in the atmosphere causing high temperature rates that lead to global warming.

Secondly, air pollution also causes global warming. Air pollution is the contamination of the air. Gases from old cars, fumes from industries, bush burning and nuclear tests give off gases that contribute a lot to global warming.

In addition to that, industrialisation has contributed a lot to global warming. Due to industrial emission, many gases are given off, hence leading to air pollution which may cause global warming.

I am going to talk about a few of the effects of global warming. Global warming not only affects us people but also plants and animals. Some of the effects of global warming include extreme (excess) heat on the earth’s surface, and death of plants due to excessive heat, among others.

In conclusion, global warming has many effects and its causes which is why we should all join the fight to stop and prevent global warming by planting trees to absorb the gases and many more ways.
