Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA) has announced plans to focus mainly on youth development in 2018 through talent detection programmes. According to Jackson Nzayisenga, RCA Schools’ programme Coordinator, they have already started the year with the U-15 holiday training camp, composed of over 40 players, both girls and boys, aged between 12-15 years.

According to Jackson Nzayisenga, RCA Schools’ programme Coordinator, they have already started the year with the U-15 holiday training camp, composed of over 40 players, both girls and boys, aged between 12-15 years.
The camp kicked-off this week at Integrated Polytechnic Regional Centre, (IPRC-Kigali) with participants (students) from Rulindo, Kayonza, Rwamanaga, Huye and Kigali City. It will run until January 14.
"The holiday training camp is part of the ongoing RCA activities aimed at targeting the youth while they are still young,” Nzayisenga told Times Sport on Tuesday.
He added that, "This is part of RCA talent detection programme aimed at developing and promoting cricket throughout the country.”
The residential holiday training camp is the first of the kind in Rwanda, and participants are being trained in different cricket skills as well as techniques which include batting, bowling, and fielding by qualified coaches.
