National Volleyball league side University of Tourism Technology and Business Studies (UTB) have unveiled their squad ahead of the 2018 season, which will get underway in two weeks.

The team was founded last year and in its league debut, UTB finished in sixth place in the National Volleyball League.

They managed to reach the semifinals of the Genocide Memorial Tournament, but lost in final of Memorial Kayumba.

In the KAVC Memorial, the club finished in quarter final while they won one trophy after clinching Rutsindura Memorial Tournament.

"It’s important to strengthen our team ahead of the new season. We have signed new players, who the club believes are good and experienced enough to help the team to achieve its targets,” said the Team Manager Mucyo.

New players are: left attacker, Fred Muvunyi from Kirehe, left attacker, Patrick Kavalo Akumuntu and center William Muhahemuka from Gisagara, Burundian duo Pacifique Iradukunda from Rwanda Energy Group (REG), Fleury Gadiel Muyuku (IPRC South) and Jean Paul Sibomana from IPRC South.

In total, head coach Sylvester Mbanza will have 17 players who have been under intensive training ahead of the new.

"We started pre-season training four weeks ago and the team is looking good, we will continue to prepare and hopefully we will have a better team than last season,” added Mucyo.
