RE: "Women need to unlearn every patriarchal lie, says Irakoze” (The New Times, January 4).

The biggest lie is that God is male.

All religious institutions should recognize that religious patriarchy is cultural rather than dogmatic and start elevating women to roles of religious authority, including the sacramental priesthood in the Catholic Church.
