Rwanda Handball Federation (FERWAHAND) will hold an extra-ordinary General Assembly on Saturday in the Ministry of Sports and Culture at Amahoro National Stadium.

According to the federation’s secretary general, Jean Paul Ngarambe, the General Assembly will discuss several issues including the national championship calendar as well as approving the two new men’s teams to compete in the national league.

"Two new teams want to join the national league but they have to first get approved by the general assembly on Saturday,” said Ngarambe.

The two new teams are; Groupe Scolaire Munyove (Rusizi) and University of Rwanda – Nyagatare Campus.

Last season, the league had ten clubs including: APR (champions), Police, ADEGI, ES Kigoma, St Aloys, Nyakabanda, Inyemeramihigo, ES Urumuri, UR-Huye and Groupe Scolaire Rambura.

APR won last year’s league title for the first time in eight years and went on to participate in the African Handball Champions League tournament in Hammamet, Tunisia where they finished bottom without winning a single game.
