Bugesera FC and Amavubi striker Bernabe Mubumbyi is set to go for professional trials with Algerian topflight division side Union Sportif de Biskra (US Biskra).

According to reports, Mubumbyi is supposed to travel to Algeria next month after getting the air ticket and visa.

"My manager is in talks with US Biskra and hopefully, the deal will be finalized soon. I am waiting for them to send me the air ticket and go for trials at the end of January,” the 23-year-old said.

After fifteen rounds of matches in the Algeria League, Union Sportif de Biskra sit in 14th position in the 16-team table with 13 points. CS Constantine leads the table with 31.

In an invitation letter to Mubumbyi, Union Sportif de Biskra wrote, "We are pleased to invite you in brief details before signing contract with the leader of the club and the negotiation of the terms and conditions and recruitment as a professional player.”

Rwanda international Mubumbyi played for APR FC since 2012 before joining AS Kigali for the 2016/17 season—he crossed to Bugesera FC this season on a two-year contract.

Mubumbyi will become the latest Rwandan player to play in North Africa, following in the footsteps of Jean Baptiste Kayiranga, Olivier Karekezi, Meddie Kagere and Emery Bayisenge, who plays for the Moroccan second division side Jeunesse Sportive El Massira (JSM).
