Banning shisha was timely

RE: "Why Rwanda banned smoking of shisha” (The New Times, December 20).

No country, including Rwanda, can successfully ban tobacco. They all know it is a dangerous product but they do not have the right means to exterminate it at once.

It has been around for a long time and billions of people have been smoking it for greater part of their life. On the other hand, shisha is new in Rwanda and not very many people use it. Therefore, it is easier to ban it now than later when a large number of our population have become addicted to it.
