Dear Editor,

I am a Rwandan living in Sudan. The picture used by the BBC in their early edition was of Protais Zigiranyirazo and not Theoneste Bagosora.

Every Rwandan knows Bagosora, the mastermind of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

Bagosora used state funds to draw a list of Tutsis and moderate Hutus to be murdered.

The Rwandans suffered under his hands just because they were opposed to their barbaric belief that Rwanda is for one ethnic group (Hutus), this plunged the country in bloodshed.

I thank the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR), based in Tanzania, for rejecting the masterminds’ defence that the genocide was not planned.

For starters, Bagosora, and his colonial allies planned the extermination of the Tutsi way back and the 1994 Genocide was just the climax.
