Domestic politics have no place in EALA

Dear MP from Burundi, that is not the way to solve whatever frustration you have, just go back to your country, sit with your fellow countrymen and look for solutions to your problems and leave Rwanda alone. The more you think that Rwanda is part of your problems, the more problems you will continue to face because you are pressing the wrong button.

Editor,

RE: "Election of EALA speaker postponed as Burundi, Tanzanian MPs boycott session” (The New Times, December 19). Wonders shall never end! So the MP from Burundi thinks he/she can hold back the work of EALA just like almost everything has stalled in Burundi? Just like the MP from South Sudan said, "If Burundi has any problems with Rwanda, those should have been sorted out elsewhere”.

For the Tanzanian MP: If it is about solidarity with Burundi, I don’t think it will work that way. If you want to support a friend, at least you support the one that is supportable in this case it doesn’t make sense to me because it is very clear the first Assembly, from 2001 to 2006, Tanzania had the speakership.
